Kristopher Lamont "Change"
Kristopher Lamont’s passion for music is his reason why he gave up his truck driving job, and pursed his life long dream, to hopefully be one of Detroit’s memorable vocal voices heard, not only in his hometown of Detroit, but on major airwaves across the nation. When I spoke with Kristopher, he told me that when he turned on the radio to 107.5 WGPR and heard his song “Change” being played on the air, it was such an awesome feeling and even though his single is receiving much air play in the UK, just to hear his single “Change” being played in his own community was so much more.
Kristopher Lamont, who is an independent artist, has been working overtime on creating his debut album which will be released sometime this spring. What I love the most about Kristopher’s, is his sound, it’s unique, soulful and rich. Coming from a city where music fuels the hearts and souls of many, there is no doubt in my mind, that this talented gifted young man, will win over the hearts of many people, who desire to hear music that can move them up and out of their seats. “Change” being Kristopher’s first single, is very fitting for a man, who has gone through many changes himself and faced many uphill battles to get where he is today, and stepped out on faith, so his voice to can be heard.
Kristopher Lamont wants to be able to touch people with his voice, sound and songwriting capabilities. His musical creativity is endless and his strong dedication to push beyond the enviable vocally will carry him a long way. Real change takes sacrifice and Kristopher has displayed just that. If you want to know more about Kristopher Lamont’s up and coming album and performances, visit him on his website www.kristopherlamont.com follow him on twitter at twitter.com/KrisLamontSouL and check him out on facebook on www.facebook.com/KristopherLamontMusics. Kristopher’s single “Change” is now available on ITunes’s so check him out!

I am truly one of his Music Fans!
When I heard the sounds of Eric Roberson's "The Moon" and “Too Soon" I felt like Katt Williams when he said “I think he knows me personally” I was caught in a musical catastrophic haze and I was left speechless and in awe when he said “the only way I’ll make you cry is if I were to die”. That lyric alone deserved a “sexual chocolate stomp “all while dropping the mic and exciting the stage. Erob as he is known across the Neo board spectrum crept into my emotional world and spoke about the things that I've longed to feel in my own personal relationships. He spoke about LOVE, in a way that was beyond relatable, it was almost as if he had taken the time to personally write me lyrical love letter and tell me what was on my heart’s mind at the particular moment in my life.
With the volume turned up on my iPod I could envisioned myself reading this letter that he wrote to me and the words sort of flowed like this. “Would you mind if I borrowed you in hopes to get a chance to dance with you even if it was only for a little while, because I want to take this opportunity to ask you about the obstacles that were getting in your way, and explain to you that if you would just listen, not with def ears because it’s obvious that your not getting the message solely because you couldn’t hear him over the music you felt as if you weren’t deserving of greater, but you must open your eyes because it’s so frustrating to see such a pretty girl who one day will wake up and find out that time can not rewind while your out chasin' things. Seems like your flying right past your dreams I wanna know, who you really are pretty girl? Because what ever your dealings are, can’t compare to what you truly deserve, allow me to break it down a little bit further for you, because it’s clear that you haven’t experienced truly the newness of love and if you could possibly change for me, I could show you I could be the one LOVE you from head to toe.”
When you listen to music that can take you from different levels and with each play of each song, you sink deeper and deeper into a subconscious thought at that very movement. I promised myself that when Eric Roberson came to Detroit I wanted to see if the man behind the lyrics could perform his songs, and win over the crowd? And on July 31, 2010 I had the opportunity to witness, independent artistry at it’s finest and Eric Roberson moved the crowd! I left the Charles H. Wright Museum on a musical high, because the positivity in the room was electric. I was truly spellbound and what made me respect Eric Roberson even further, was when I met him after the concert and he was truly a humble down to earth man. No show boating, no cockiness, he was simply a talented man who followed his dreams an he’s doing it all independently on his own.
My love and passion for music is indescribable, Eric Roberson is just one of the many independent artists I choose to write about and shed some light to all of you who love real soul music. What you read is truly my P.O.V. on how certain independent artist music moves me, and how I would love to introduce you to a world of music that isn’t main stream or heard on FM98wjlb but their following is greater than most mainstream artist. So sit back and enjoy all that is to come to Voice Is Word, this is the place where voices come alive and their truths will be spoken and heard. For more information on Eric Roberson visit http://blueerrosoul.blogspot.com/ and go out and purchase his latest cd Music Fan’s 1st I promise you, that you wont be disappointed this is a cd that will stay in cd rotation. Tell me what you thought of the article by leaving me your comments!
