To Experience it…First you have to experiment with it! The B. Williams Experiment is just that good!
Brandon wears far more hats, than just a drummer of his own band, his career is astonishing and the list of people who have helped contribute to the pivotal point of his success were those who saw greatness in this young man, stemming from Denaun Porter “Kon Artist” of D-12; who took Brandon under his wing and showed him the ropes. Brandon has had the opportunity to work with D-12 on their album, as well as worked with Kon Artist on a Dr. Dre project for the Detox Album (which has not been released as of yet) Brandon has also worked on Jadakiss latest album “The Kiss” on a track title "smoking gun" featuring the musically talented song bird herself, Miss Jazmine Sullivan.
If you’re looking to check out and hear for yourself the greatness they call, Brandon “B” Williams, here is where you can catch him during the week:
Wednesday: “Official Birthday Celebration at the Key Club 9:00pm - $5 cover
Thursday: The B. Williams “Experiment” at Bakers Keyboard Lounge 8:00pm - $5 cover
Friday: The B. Williams “Experiment” at Motor city Wine 10:00pm - $5 cover
My saying goes, every person has a voice, and how you choose to utilize yours in the ultimate key. Brandon’s voice speaks to us in his music, and it’s being spoken all across the broad, so take some time to listen to what this gentleman has to say….

Introducing Rockisha...
Rockisha has been singing for as long as she can remember and she's enjoying every minute of it. Rockisha's mother was a singer and exposed not only her but also her siblings to several genres of music; mainly Gospel. Like most singers with phenomenal voices, started out singing in the church and she was very involved with the music department as well as other auxiliaries within her church, which inspired her desire to explore the many possibilities of singing and living out her dream.

When it’s all said and done, what have you truly done for yourself lately?
I was reading one of my favorite online magazine’s clutchmagazine.com while, sitting at my new cozy starbucks I plan to frequent, as my castle of solitude from the craziness of the world, and I came across this particular article written about “5 Rewarding Trips Every Single Black Woman Should Take.”
I got to thinking about the many conversations I’ve had with my sister friends (because these ladies are beyond just friends to me, their my unbiological sisters) and I can recall some of our pervious conversations, about being able to go where you want to go because it’s just you. I thought back to my recent get up and go vacation I just had taken and how I’ve heard some of them say, that I should take the time out to enjoy and appreciate being able to do things like that, because after all, I really only have me to depend on with no obligations but to myself.
While on my vacation away from my familiar surroundings, I got to thinking about how being thirty-two with no kids and no husband that there should be in no way, shape, form or fashion that I shouldn’t be exactly where I want to be in my life. So I asked the presumptuous question of myself…just because I have no major obligations (i.e. kids, husband) am I truly deemed more fortunate to be able to live my life with no obligations to anyone but myself. With my finger tapping on my bottom lip in deep thought, I said to myself, if I choose to move out of state I can, if I choose to quit my job and start my own business I can, and the reasons behind my decision won’t hinder or hurt anyone but me or it can benefit me because after all my obligations are solely to me. In some shrewd light it comes off as being selfish, but then again, it’s just YOU so how else could it appear? Could it be for those who choose to not have any personal obligations (husband/wife/kids) are somehow we less fulfilled than, those who have someone to share their lives with?
Take the movie Eat, Pray, Love for instance, in the movie Liz who is played by Julia Roberts is being walked inside the airport by her best friend, and her friend starts to cry and tells Liz, the reason why she told her that she was crazy to go off and live in another country for a year, because if she had no husband and or baby she wanted to get away with her too. In watching the film I wondered Julia Roberts was unfilled in her life the way it was and someone for a moment her friend wanted to life a part of her life, that she use to be able to have.
With the weight of the world, weighing heavy on all of us, single, married, divorced with or without children, it’s hard not to think about what you’re life would be like IF THIS. No matter how your life pan’s out you can’t control the cards that were dealt to you, but you can learn how to play the game and be good at it. I’m not certain about all things, but what I am certain about in my journey is this, settling for anything and anyone doesn’t make you happy, it just makes you bitter and unhappy on the inside. The shell you wear on the outside will eventually begin to crack and break and your unhappiness will soon, be seen by the world you work so hard at not showing who you really are.
Trying to emulate what your friends have in their lives, will only lead to great disaster for you, because what’s for them is what’s for them, and what’s for you will soon come to you, you just have to be patient and wait on it. Until then, take the time to enjoy YOUR life while focusing on the things that are important to you and prepare to embark on your journey that will guide you to be where you know you should be. Everything else, if you want it will come in due time, I don’t know the time or the date of exactly when it will take place, but if you speak into existence long enough and trust and believe that it will be, than it shall be. Everyone has a voice, and what your voice is and how you make it heard it truly up to you. Your voice is your word, speak and be hear.

Pieces of Me!
Four time grammy nominated Ledisi, has done it again and this time, she's doing it bigger and better than before. Her new album titled "Pieces of Me" will hit stores on June 14, 2011 and I know she wont leave any of her adoring fan's disappointed with this one. Ledisi released the single "Pieces of Me" from her new album, to give us a taste of what she's bringing to the table. When I heard this song, I could tell that Ledisi dug deep within herself on this album, so her fan's could see her differently and grow to appreciate her and her music even more. Like the chorus of the song say's "when you look at my face… You gotta know that I’m made… of everything love and pain. (These are the pieces of me) Like every woman I know… I’m complicated fo sho... But when I love I love til there’s no love no mo. (These are the pieces of me)." We all give pieces of ourselves to others each and everyday, but at the end of the day, we're not afraid to be who we are. Check out Ledisi's new single, "Pieces of Me" and on June 14th pick of your copy of "Pieces of Me" http://youtu.be/5GuZMVDZEPs

Guess who's coming to town????
Spring is in full effect, and it's starting to feel a little like springtime here in the motorcity. We're slowly but surley easing our way, out of the winter boots and making our way into those sexy summer outfits. With only a few weeks left in the month of April, we have some pretty decent concerts lined up. The best thing about the "D" in the summertime is the festivals & chene park concerts (schedule will follow this week) these concerts, are just a taste of some of the musical delights that we can expect to see over the course of the summer.

More than a "Thang"
Detroit’s been known as “Hitsville for a while, producing and developing many talented groups and singers stretching the musical spectrum and introducing the world to young, and incredibly gifted talent like Elijah “Lil ElijahJ” Johnson.
Lil ElijahJ, sets precedence for young kids that dare to dream and dream big. At the tender age of 12, Elijahis known to many as a triple threat phenom. He not only sings, he dances and acts. Elijah had the opportunity to prove his talent on a family trip to Atlanta in 2008 where he auditioned for the role of Simba for the Disney Broadway musical “The Lion King.” At the time, the part eluded him; a year later he was called back to audition in New York, with over eight thousand other kids. This time, Elijah came out on top and got the part as Young Simba.
Elijah captivated the hearts of many, while playing Young Simba in Las Vegas Nevada. During his Vegas stretch, he performed at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert at the Palms Hotel Pearl Theatre, where he gave a remarkable and noteworthy performance. It won him a standing ovation and kudos from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’Robin Leech , saying Elijah could be the next Michael Jackson Phenom.
Elijah is very much influenced by the Legendary Michael Jackson admiring MJ’s strong work ethic and ability to put his all into every performance. To give his all acting, singing and dancing where he too can leave his audience in awe is the young performers end goal.
As he continues to build his craft his cd single entitled “Let Me Do My Thang” has received over 136,700 hits on Youtube.com. When asked what the song is about he simply answers, “It’s like the title say’s, let me do my [thang] while I perform and sing and if you’re a performer don’t try to hate on me while I’m doing my [thang].”
Erica D. Hayes who is also a Detroit native directed lil ElijahJ’s “Let Me Do My Thang” video. She’s also, worked with Universal Motown Recording Artist KEM in directing his music video “Why Would You Stay.”

The Love Experience Present: Life Love And The Pursuit of Passion Conference 2011
Tina Turner sang what’s love got to do with it? But the truth of the matter is, love has a lot to do with it, especially when it’s hard to come by for so many and even harder for some to even hold onto. Love speaks loud and clear especially on Valentines Day and most of the time cupid isn’t shooting arrows and making love connections, he’s sometimes shooting folks straight through their hearts leaving a trail of hurts and pains right beside it.
Women especially find Valentines Day a little harder to cope with because we are emotional creatures, and we want to be reminded that we are someone special in another person’s life. That’s why this year’s Valentines Day is going to be different for women. It’s time to let loose and redefine what love is and know that it’s okay to be in love with the woman you are.
The ladies of Arch Executives’ Charisse Mills and A.J. Williams, have stepped outside of the box and brought to light, what will be the most talked about Valentines Day event ever. The Love Experience present; Love, Life and the pursuit of passion conference taking place February 12, 2011 from 9:00am – 2:00pm at the Charles H. Wright Museum.
A.J Williams said “we as women never get where we need to get because we don’t want to talk about ourselves or some of the deep issues that surround us, and hinder us from moving forward in love with ourselves, as well as in a relationship." Knowing who you are and being sure of yourself is the best thing any of us can do, that is why the Love Experience is so important. ”Love, Life and the Pursuit of Passion conference will leave you with a deeper appreciation for one’s self as well as love.
Workshops will be offered, where they will touch on topics such as single and successful a deeper look within, lunch will be catered by Brown Bag Catering and Carols Daughter’s gift bags will be given out. The highlight of the conference will be the tantalizing talk show, hosted by R& B recording artist Christopher Williams and Co-Hosted by A.J.
